Maharashtra, the land of a great variety of delectable fruits has numerous orchards throughout the state. If Jalgaon is the ‘Banana Capital of India’, the ‘Wine Capital of India’ is Nashik, Ratnagiri is famous for Hapus mangoes, Nagpur is surely the ‘City of Oranges’ and Mahebaleshwar is the ‘Basket of Strawberries’, then Bordi must be the Chikoo County of India. No wonder, this small village knows how to celebrate the various aspects of a delicious fruit called Chikoo. Hence the place observes its most diverse festival, Chikoo Utsav.
